      Job Description

      • Working closely with Visual Effects Supervisors, Producers and the Compositing Supervisor, the Senior Compositor will design, develop and produce large and/or small-scale digital composites for use in feature films,

      Responsibilities include:

      • Responsible for final 3D scene assembly and rendering of elements required to complete visual effects shots,
      • Engaging at every stage of production including pre-visualization of complicated sequences and research and development,
      • Optimize and troubleshoot lighting and rendering problems in a fast paced environment,
      • Working closely with CG Supervisors to determine best approach to solve 3D challenges and develop final look,
      • Will work closely with compositors to finish selected shots so that computer generated elements are seamlessly integrated with live-action plates.

      Qualifications:

      • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with V-RAY and Maya, as well as a general understanding of film production / post production techniques in a production environment
      • Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks,
      • Strong communication skills are critical. Candidate must be able to work within a team, taking direction and exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment,
      • Experience with Renderman and Houdini a plus.

      We are currently looking for an experienced Look Dev Artist to join our team.
      Responsibilities:

      • Developing Shader and Lighting Techniques for Enviroments and 3D Assets
      • Work closely with lighting, texturing and modeling departments to establish look of assets and shots
      • Troubleshoot and develop pipeline requirements to promote continuity and set standards for rendering

    • Modeling/Texture Artist

      We are currently looking for a Modeling\Texture Artist.

      Responsibilities include:

      • 3D Modeling and Texturing for feature films, using a wide range of reference material
      • Work very closely with the shader writers, look development artists and the riggers to generate organic or rigid object models that are suitable for feature film work
      • With guidance from CG Supervisors, helping to determine the best approach to solve 3D challenges and develop final look

      Qualifications:

      • Strong spatial awareness and a good sense of form, scale and proportion, and a keen eye for detail.
      • A full working knowledge of modeling in Maya is required.
      • Ability to deliver a "clean" model with tidy polygon/sub-d placement and good basic UV layout for texturing.
      • Ability to work with Z-brush desired.
      • Knowledge of Houdini would be an advantage.

      Requirements:

      As an in-house Software Engineer at Mr X you will:

      • Troubleshoot specific technical production related issues with artists

      • Administration and support of Linux and Windows desktop computers, involving both hardware and software troubleshooting,

Demo Reel Submission Guidelines

Please send us a DVD of the work that you are most proud of and that best demonstrates your abilities, starting with your most recent work. Music is not necessary. Your demo reel should be limited to 3 minutes in length.

Include a credit list explaining what you did on your reel and what software (if applicable) was used to achieve the effects.

Once your materials have been received we will send acknowledgement by letter or e-mail within 3 weeks. Should a position become available that matches your unique set of skills and talents, we will contact you.
